Most people think being educated means filling your head with knowledge or possessing degrees.

More information equals more education.

But if you look at history, that is not what the word actually means.

The word education comes from the Latin word educatio, which literally means bringing up or raising a child to behave correctly.

It's about character and conduct.

When you take that original meaning and apply it to modern life, the idea behind the word changes.

If education means learning how to behave correctly, then a truly educated person is someone who has the ability to act and behave in a way that produces a satisfactory result.

In any situation.

With any person.

Under any circumstance.

They can bend reality to their will because they are competent.

True education is not a collection of facts memorized for a test.

It is functional.
