Lying is Dangerous
Lying is extremely dangerous.
Not just for others, but especially for yourself.
Think about why you would lie in the first place.
You lie to hide your inadequacies.
That's it.
You lie because in some way your present reality doesn't match the actual competence or value you would need to stay truthful.
Let that sink in.
When you stay truthful and still don't get what you want, you become forced to become better.
The gap between where you are and where you want to be becomes impossible to ignore.
And that gap demands growth.
When you lie to get what you want, you handicap yourself from real improvement. You bypass the very feedback that would have made you better.
Don't avoid lying just because it is immoral. Avoid it because it is detrimental to your own growth.
Let the truth sting you like a bee.
So that you can become better.
Imagine living a life where you are actually valued for who you truly are, not for the false perceptions you signal to people.
Where everything you have is real and everything you are is real.
And if you tell me "I am too far into the hole now to tell the truth."
I would think:
What an even greater opportunity to tell it!
