Performance & Happiness
It’s interesting how differently we approach performance and happiness.
In business or sports, when we’re unhappy with our results, we analyze.
We review the numbers, adjust the strategy, hire a coach, change the system.
We assume improvement is possible, and we move.
But when it comes to our own happiness, most people don’t apply that same mindset.
If they’re unhappy, they often just… stay unhappy for some reason.
For months.
Sometimes years.
Without auditing their habits.
Without questioning their environment.
Without testing new behaviors.
Without thinking about where their unhappiness comes from.
Without applying the same frameworks they’d use to fix a struggling business or a declining performance.
In every other domain, we believe that improvement and change is required for something to improve and grow.
But in our personal lives, if we feel discontent or misaligned, we call it “just the way things are.”
That’s the strange part.
