The Warrior Must Be Prepared To Enter Battle

The successful warrior understood from the start that he had to be ready to lead an army into battle.

The warrior did not try to vet high-quality soldiers before he was ready to be a leader.

The warrior did not complain that there were no high-quality soldiers around before he was ready to lead them. 

The warrior understood that everything that he was lacking (the ability to find high-quality soldiers, the ability to lead soldiers, the ability to kill his enemies) was his own shortcoming.

He had to be ready to go into battle.

Not just go into battle because he desired to. 

And once the warrior had proven himself worthy, after years of effort and sacrifice, every young soldier became eager to join his clan.

Not because the warrior forced them.

Not because the warrior wanted them to join.

But because the warrior deserved it.
