We Are All Addicted

Every single human being on this planet is addicted to something.

No exceptions.

The question is never whether you have an addiction.

The question is what you are addicted to and whether it is building you or destroying you.

The addiction itself is completely neutral.

It is simply a pattern your brain has decided to repeat because at some point it felt good or necessary.

And here is what most people don't understand:

The person addicted to something negative and the person addicted to something positive are operating under the exact same mechanism.

One has just aimed that drive at something that compounds positively over time, and the other has aimed it at something that compounds negatively over time.

This means that if you are addicted to something destructive, you are not broken.

You are simply misdirected.

The same intensity that keeps you going back to what is destroying you is the exact same intensity that could be redirected towards what builds you.

I would even go as far to say that the person addicted to all sorts of destructive things actually has everything it takes to be exceptionally successful.
